This painting takes me straight back to childhood. My primary school faced out towards Rangitoto so I would see it every day and spend weekends fishing around it with my dad in his little stabi craft. 
There are so many paintings of Rangitoto out there, but I wanted to capture a softer, more idyllic moment, framing it with bush, so it's as if we’re seeing it before the area was ever developed.
