Ruru/Moreporks our special native NZ owl are one of my favourite birds to spot in the bush. They often feast on puriri moths, another creature I love to paint. So I incorporated one under the branch he's perched on. This was my first painting of a Ruru, I completed it back in the beginning of 2021.
