Tātarāmoa Fairy - A4 Print

From my recent series of medicinal plant fairies. 

Tātarāmoa translates to the long vine that can hold the moa. This prickly vine is found throughout Aotearoa. She is a member of the rose family and known in English as ‘bush lawyer’ because of the way she entangles the unsuspecting with her thorny grip.

Tātarāmoa can be used for calming the nervous system, acting as a natural sedative, helpful for restless sleepers or those suffering from anxiety. She also supports the respiratory system and can be used to reduce fevers. Infusions made from her leaves were used traditionally in rongoā Māori to soothe and strengthen the body.
